These is a collage of us in our new summer school uniforms. Jerseys (sweaters) can be worn, but in mid summer they can get hot so they aren't required. Black dress shoes required; girls may wear those designed for boys instead of the (in my opinion) more uncomfortable girls t-bar shoes. Blouse, skirt or shorts, white or knee length, blue socks, and blazer on formal occasions for those fourth grade and up. Hair must be tied back for girls. Typical school uniform, although I find it very comfortable.
This morning, we revisited the New Covenant Church, Bryanston, the one which is connected to the school. The regular children's programs had started back up, so we wanted to experience the full church. Afterwards, Mom picked up the hair dresser, who did Esther's hair again. Other than that, nothing happened except Mom, Teresa, and I ran a couple of errands. We're counting the hours until school starts; 38 hours to go!!
We did visit the dogs today. (Sara doesn't like kennels so she blocked it from her memory.) They are losing a little weight -- good since they were a bit overweight to begin with. They are healthy and eager to get out of the kennel. Can't blame them, really. The Derrs can relate as we've been "cooped up" for the same 5 weeks as they've been kenneled.
ReplyDeleteWell, it certainly looks like life may be getting back to 'normal'. There is something to be said for daily routine, classes, going to work, and just doing 'life'.
ReplyDeleteYou (plural) are in my prayers daily.

great news, school starting and a home to move into. I have enjoyed catching up and reading about your experiences, Sara. You are doing a great job! We had our handbell picnic a week ago and it was very different without the Derr family!!! We missed you very much.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time at school.... I know you will all make friends in no time! Love the uniforms!
Blessings, Ruth
WOW, WOW, AND WOW - New house, new school, new uniforms (which really look nice on you all - crisp and clean and easy - new friends, new dogs, new chores - now Grandma, why did you have to ruin a good thing!! Seriously, we are so glad prayers are being answered - and of course we knew they would be. Pastor Laurie's message this morning was based on Methodist doctrine - Do no harm, be kind to others, and love God. That's our prayer for you as you begin your school year - can't wait to hear more on this stupendous blog. Way to go Sara!
